The County Cup always comes around quickly into the season and this year was no exception. WGS played their first game against Safron Waldon. WGS applied pressure well in the first 10mins of the game and then they lost composure which enabled Safron Waldon to take advantage. WGS never game up though and showed glimpses of good phases of hockey. score 2 - 0 to Safron Waldon. Second game was against King's Peterborough, this was a closer game with WGS missing a few opportunities to take the lead, but it was Peterborough who took the lead. WGS kept the pressure up and were on the attack until the final whistle. Score 1 - 0 to King's Peterborough. WGS played King's Ely in their final game, having been beaten by them on the previous Friday night WGS had a score to settle. WGS looked like a new team and started very well with lots of great attacks. Ely were certainly under pressure, it didnt take long for WGS to find a way through the defence for Layla Bullman to score her first goal of the season and what a great team goal it was. Final Score 1 - 0 win to WGS. WGS finished in 3rd place.
