Match Report
Wisbech Grammar School Girls-U10B vs  Glebe House Preparatory School
On: Wednesday, 29 Sep 2021
Venue: at Home

This afternoon saw the under 11s play their first fixture of the season. It was great to see the pupils representing their school and hosting an opposition once again.

Our game started tentatively with both sides taking time to settle their nerves. The ball spent most of its time within the midfield but a few attacking opportunities arose once the ball escaped out towards the sidelines. Zara and Bailey managed to score a goal each from separate attacks down the right hand side, meaning Wisbech entered half time 2-0 up.

Our aim for the second half was to maintain our positions, our space on the pitch and also to follow up on any rebounds in the D. This allowed Wisbech to link more passes together and generate better chances at goal. Wisbech had 4 goal scorers in the second half: Bailey and Zara scored their second each, in addition to Daisy’s hard work being rewarded with her own goal and Arya’s attempt sneaking in off the post from the top of the D.

The girls were delighted with the result and the way they played the game. The passing and teamwork in the second half was much improved, adding to the players fulfilment. Well done to Hetty for keeping a clean sheet in goal; and to Sophie, Izzy and Bethany for their efforts on pitch too.
