Match Report
Wisbech Grammar School Girls-U11A vs  Glebe House Preparatory School
On: Wednesday, 29 Sep 2021
Venue: at Home

WGS had their very first fixture of the season today against Glebe. Despite the early shower and blustery conditions, both teams settled quickly into the game.

WGS were able to transfer the ball around the back, which enabled our forwards to push up into space. Once the nerves had shaken off WGS started to play with good pace and were able to dominate for much of the first quarter. The forwards had several attempts at goal and were very unlucky not to score. The Glebe GK was solid in defence and the WGS girls had to work hard to try and get the ball passed her.

In the second quarter WGS came out very determined and their hard work payed off when Phoebe scored a great goal. This settled the team and they started to play some really nice hockey.

In the last quarter WGS kept the pace up with some great passes out wide and solid tackling, enabling them to win the ball and go for goal. More opportunities came and eventually WGS found the net again from some very good team work.

Well done to all the girls and the player of the match was awarded to Kirstie.

Team were: Phoebe, Millie, Adriana, Olivia, Hannah, Kirstie, Ellie, Jasmine.
