Wisbech Grammar School Boys' 1st X1 vs King's School Ely

King's Ely won the toss and elected to bat on a fine day at WGS.

King's Ely made a steady start, putting on 20 runs for the first wicket, with Saunders being bowled by Frazer Brown for 7 runs. All the WGS bowlers were disciplined, but the stand out performance was by leg spinner Charles Kerman-Staley, who ripped through the middle order, taking 3 wickets for 14 runs off 3 overs. King's Ely finished on 137 for 6 off 20 overs.

The fielding was of a good standard and Bradley Hutler had a fine day behind the stumps, including a good catch, standing up to the medium pace of Frazer Brown.

In reply, WGS hit the winning runs in the 18th over with Oliver Mann scoring an excellent 67 not out, being well supported by Alex Clabon (14) and Joe Mayes (15 not out).

Thank you to all the parents and staff for supporting the 1st XI.
